This article by Hadeel Halaweh and colleagues is the results from a cross cultural adaptation study. The FES-I was translated into Arabic FES-I (Ar) based on the protocol of the (ProFaNE). And the Arabic version was evaluated for validity and reliability with respect to its use with Arabic-speaking elderly subjects. The conclusion of this study was that the FES-I(Ar) was shown to be a comprehensible, valid and reliable measure of the concern about falling among community-dwelling elderly subjects. In clinical practice and future research, the FES-I (Ar) instrument could be used to effectively assess concern about falling in Arabic-speaking elderly persons. The article can be found here.
