The assessment and prevention of falls in older people (NICE Guideline)

This clinical guideline 161 was issued in June 2013 and replaces the NICE clinical guideline 21 from 2004. All persons above 65 years are covered by these recommendations that offer evidence-based advices on prevention falls in older persons. New recommendations have been added about prevention falls in older persons during a hospital stay, so people aged 50 to 64 years admitted to hospital and with higher risk of falling due to underlying conditions are also covered by this guideline.

The document is for healthcare and other professionals and staff who care for older persons who are at risk of falling. You can read and download a pdf of the guideline here: NICE Guideline
