Aims of the Geriatric Medicine section of UEMS:
- To ensure recognition of the specialty throughout the EU.
- To harmonize training standards for doctors.
- To define requirements concerning staffing, facilities and professional skills to be met in order to establish Geriatric Medicine across the EU.
- To ensure that all older people in the EU have similar and appropriate access to properly trained specialists in Geriatric Medicine.
