In this moment we are implementing the project: Fall Prevention – For an Active Aging in Community, in 4 european Cities (FP:FAAC 4EC).
Partner institutions: Instituto Maimónides de Investigation Biomédica In Cordoba (IMIBIC) /Hospital Reína Sofía/ Universidad de Córdoba; Universitatea Transilvania din Brasov (UTB); College of Nursing LJUBLJANA (CNJ).
For research we chose a methodological approach of Action Research.
We contemplate three phases: Phase I – Exploratory that corresponds to an investigative study with a qualitative and quantitative approach; Phase II – Intervention that corresponds to a Quasi-experimental study; Phase III – Evaluation.
Phase I General goals:General Goals:
– Evaluate nursing records about fall/ fall risk in elderly people (65 years or more), of the health units in different context (4 European cities);
– Describe the factors that nurses percept as potential barriers to the assessment/intervention/documentation of the nursing focus (fall/ fall risk) in elderly people (65 years or more);
– Characterize the socio demographic and clinical profile, of the elderly people (65 years or more) of the health units in different context (4 European cities).
Phase II general goals:
Develop, implement and evaluate a training program on fall prevention for nurses of the health units in different context (4 European cities);
– Intervene in nurses regarding assessment and intervention in focus falls/falls risk in the elderly population of the health units in different context (4 European cities);
– Create, boost and empower a nursing team to prevent falls in the health units in different context (4 European cities).
Phase III general goals:
– Assess the impact of the training program.
