The Prevention Package for Older People (DoH, 2009)

The Prevention Package for Older People (DoH, 2009)

In 2009, the Department of Health published its prevention package for older people. The theme of the prevention package is ‘keeping well in later life’. It focuses on those issues which older people surveyed reported as most important in helping to keep them well and active, such as footcare and help to get well after a fall or serious illness.

The prevention package encourages local health and social care commissioners to give priority to services that maximise health, well-being and independence in later life

The downloadable prevention package resources are designed to support Health Organisations and Local Authorities in prioritising and effectively commissioning
services that support the health, well-being and independence of older people.
Each resource may be read as a stand-alone document or as part of the series.
